An integrated approach

Building on both the Netherlands’ experience with water-related challenges and technological innovations through triple helix cooperation, this cluster of five leading companies provides a “total solution package” for safe and sustainable tailings dams. Our objective is to mitigate tailings dam lifecycle risk, and to boost the recovery of metals by purifying wastewater streams together with our Brazilian partners.

Ultimately, the Dutch water sector wishes to be a partner for improving safety and sustainability at tailings dams in Brazil. Together we can achieve more and achieve it faster. Let’s build safe and sustainable tailings dams!

Activities

Have a look at our list of upcoming events and photos of past activities!

Upcoming events:

- Exposibram 2022

Past activities:

- Technical Conference on Dutch Technologies for Dam Safety (SKEMA Brasil)

- Exposibram 2021

- Exposibram 2020
The Dutch participation in Exposibram 2020 was a huge success. There were almost 900 visits to our booth and almost 200 spectators in our lecture at the NL Pavilion at Exposibram 2020!

Along with other Dutch companies, the Dutch Technical Team for Dam Safety (DTTD) was there to showcase its innovative products and solutions in geotechnics, mining, tailings dam management, dam monitoring, sustainable tailings disposal and water management.

Moreover, there was a successful lecture on the ‘Dutch Centennial experience and cutting edge technology in risk management of dams and dykes’, where Hilton Lucio, CEO of Antea Brasil and part of the DTTD, presented the "opportunities to de-characterise mining assets".

From a mineral bottom liner in landfills to water isolation systems in civil engineering projects and water features on golf courses. Initially developed by the Dutch company Tritech Natural, Trisoplast has been in use for more than 20 years.

Arenal

Arenal is the first and only producer of ceramic ultrasonic spectroscopy sensors in the world for the determination of density, specific gravity, total suspended solids and temperature of abrasive and high concentration slurries in the mineral processing industry.

InTech

InTech is a Dutch engineering and consultancy firm. In the past years, InTech developed several sensor systems for monitoring dikes and dams. With these sensor technologies, dam and dike failure mechanisms can be detected in an early stage. These new solutions for dike- and dam safety are tested and validated in the Netherlands and are now used by the Waterboards and Rijkswaterstaat (the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management). InTech is part of the consortium I4 Dam Safety which provides a total solution for dam safety and is also a member of the Dutch Department of the International Commission of Large Dams (ICOLD).
